1850's Era Powder Magazines
Museums open 12:00-4:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday from February to mid-December.
Museums are open Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day at their normal hours.

Powder Magazine Museum
The Powder Magazine Museum (above left), built in 1857, houses a permanent exhibit of the history of Jefferson Barracks from 1826 to 1946. Free admission.
Old Ordnance Room
The Old Ordnance Room (above right), built in 1851, houses temporary exhibits on military themes. Free admission. Guided tours may be booked in advance by calling (314) 544-6224.
Current exhibit: "The Civil War in the West" - February 1 through November 4, 2012. This exhibit will explore aspects of daily life for the soldiers as well as the events that took place during many of the battles in the Western Theater, including Shiloh, Corinth, New Orleans, Vicksburg, and many more. Uniforms, equipment, and arms will also be shown to provide an idea of what the soldiers had to work with. A companion booklet to this exhibit will also be available.
